Guest ALacy
It appears to be "Geocache by Jim Gooch" http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.asp?ID=29 The way I found it was go to the front page http://www.geocaching.com use the Locate by state, then the caches are shown newest to oldest, and went to the end of the list on the last page. Guest ddrevik
You can use the ID numbers to track the order in which they were registered. I'm pround to have been the placer of the 3,000th cache! Quote Link to comment
Guest BigDoggie
I would say it is: Yellow River Stash by Brian Howard N 33° 47.009 W 084° 4.033 (WGS-84) State: Georgia Hidden on: 11/13/2000 http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.asp?ID=182 So, why is ID #182 six months earlier that ID #29? My guess would be that NEW caches are entered into the database as they are posted, and thus chronologically numbered, but there was an original first batch that got entered in more-or-less random order. Guest ALacy
But "Geocache by Jim Gooch" http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.asp?ID=29 N 33° 52.305 W 083° 58.308 (WGS-84) State: Georgia Hidden on: 6/3/2000 is 5 months earlier than Yellow River's 11/13/2000. Quote Link to comment
Guest PharoaH
I have to agree after checking http://www.triax.com/yngwie/gps.html and seeing that Jim Gooch's cache was indeed the first on 6/3/2000. Quote Link to comment
Guest erik88L-R
One of the newest listed Ga. geocaches is in some ways the oldest - dating to April 2000. see http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.asp?ID=4357 erik Quote Link to comment
Guest PharoaH
I guess, in a way, there has been something there for a while. From what I understood, that was just a letterbox until it was recently converted to dual-purpose letterbox/geocache. Quote Link to comment
