Community Celebration Event Notification

One of the new Community Celebration Events just published near me. I didn't get an email notification for it, like I do for regular events. I sure wish the Marketing group would have reminded everyone to set up a notification for that type of event. I suppose word of mouth and faceplant will have to suffice for telling folks about these special events.

You even won't find these type of event when you click "Nearby caches" on a cache page. Seems they just forget putting cache type 3653 into their scripts (or links).

In the meantime (as a workaround) bookmark this link and check from time to time:

Yeah, that link is good for those who are aware of it, but the hundreds of Geocachers in my area don't know to use it. I did see the CCE included in the "Nearby Events" default search, but who uses that?

It would be nice to be able to sort on these in the map as well (and to uncheck them as well - I regularly check the map for i.e. Cito's, but now all the CC-events are also shown on the Browse map, which will be a mess when more and more are published...).

Hans, I think staff stalks your posts  ;-)  This event type now does load on a Nearby caches link
