+Deepdiggingmole
I was under the impression that making mention of nearby caches or highlighting them so as to encourage attendees to do them within the description on an event page was not allowed However i may be wrong and need clarification Take this as an example - would this be allowed The pub is dog, child and, above all, cacher friendly and looks forward to welcoming us when it opens at 12 noon. As is tradition a 'few' caches will be placed nearby to enable us to stretch the legs, blow away the cobwebs and shake off the hangovers in the never-ending quest to find plastic pots under rocks prior to the pub opening. Those wishing to hunt out these bits of tupperware should meet at the pub car park for a prompt 10:00 start in advance of a brisk stroll. All being well (and assuming the Reviewer is not inebriated from the night before ) they should go live on the day. Please note:- to prevent the pub car park being taken up en masse by us caching fraternity please use the nearby lay-bys first including opposite the pub. When these are full then use the pub car park starting at the very end. I'll collect any pre-orders for food before we set off which should be ready for when we return after our hike. Look forward to seeing you there. I have shown it as it would look on a page - would/should this get past a reviewer or would changes need to be made Thanks Edited December 31, 2019 by Deepdiggingmole Quote Link to comment
+Touchstone
Sounds a bit to heavy on the all about the hunt and less about the socializing aspects of what an Event is supposed to be. YMMV. Quote Link to comment
+Viajero Perdido
I realized most of the rules said what you cannot do in an event listing, so I've winnowed mine down to the bare minimum. My events that seem most popular are basically one-word listings, but that word tends to sell itself. 1 Quote Link to comment
+Deepdiggingmole
Unless I have missed something, apart from you can't hold an event specifically to find a cache, is there any rule about not mentioning 'going out and finding nearby caches' The above example does do that but is it allowed and if not where does it say not Cheers Quote Link to comment
