+TeddyR
My brother hid a few geocaches, one is in MY OWN back yard only accessible from a cemetery. He has since passed away. How am I able to adopt this cache and some of his others since he is unable to correspond and do the original C.O portion of the adoption process? Quote Link to comment

Unless you have his password, that's the only option. 1 Quote Link to comment

I haven't gone through it myself, but my understanding is that the deceased CO's heirs can tell Groundspeak what to do with the caches (e.g., via email), and the lackeys will work out the details. The heirs don't need to have/create accounts on the geocaching.com site. 1 Quote Link to comment
+Max and 99
That is my understanding as well, what I learned when a fellow cacher passed away. Quote Link to comment
+Touchstone
As a Family member, I would imagine that you have some say in either Adopting his caches or taking over his account. I've seen them do that with Spouses, who have taken over the maintenance of the caches under the primary account. Sorry for your loss. Quote Link to comment
