The Berlin Wall around the world

Recommended Posts

Following the Event that came from this past in Berlin I had an Idea for a New Category and as it apparently does not exist, I ask the community to see what they think about it.

On November 9, 1989, the Berlin Wall began to be destroyed by German youth. Now in 2019, Germany is celebrating the 30th anniversary of the fall of this wall, which is now found all over the world. Let's show the world where we can find them

Below are some examples of this around the world
In Belgium

I was just trying to figure that out! I knew I had a posted a waymark related to the OP.

Thx for all this information, i will try to delete everything also:blink:

And i have found another Catégorie : Gifts from Other Countries

But this is once again, in my opinion, that the organization of the Categories is to be reviewed
Because these certain Category names are too vague or not precise enough
Here, why not keep a name related to the description of the category which seems more explicit to me : "uprisings against the communist"

The category Relocated Structures might also apply, but then again a single piece of the Berlin wall "can (relatively) be moved easily"(?), which is one of the criteria for not being accepted there.

As an officer in that category, I can say we do accept these. I would also suggest you submit a waymark into the Preserved Architectural Remnants and Ruins category.

Just because something fits into another category too doesn't mean it wouldn't deserve its own category. I would support an extra category for it. My favorite piece is the one in a men's room in a Las Vegas Casino.

I would also not limit it to large pieces of the wall. A lot of individual stones or pieces of barbed wire ended up in museums and other public places. A gave a little (about 2 inches) stone to a friend in Malaysia and he put it in a wall in his house.

I would agree. This would be quite interesting to have all the Berlin Wall pieces into one category verses spread throughout the site. I wouldn't oppose to a new category, but I belive getting it through peer review may be challenging.
