+Viajero Perdido Posted September 11, 2019 Posted September 11, 2019 Consensus? [snrk] That'll never happen. Have a look through some of the other (long) threads on the subject, to get a few hundred opinions... Quote
+Mineral2 Posted September 11, 2019 Posted September 11, 2019 (edited) The consensus is that any modern GPS is better than a really old and outdated one. If your old GPS is an eTrex Vista or legend that requires a special cable to connect it to a computer, it's time to use something else. If your old GPS is a 60csx, while still good, use something else for geocaching. If your old GPS isn't a Garmin, good luck as other companies have ditched recreational handheld devices. Other than that, you can pretty much be assured the answer will come from Garmins current line-up of products. Quote
+BAMBOOZLE Posted December 15, 2019 Posted December 15, 2019 I vote for the Garmin 78S.......I like the case better than the 60 series. Quote

Almost a clone of the 62s software and hardware wise except for the patch antenna the 78s uses versus the 62s quad-helix antenna. They share the same firmware updates. But the 78s floats and can be had at a really good price now. Quote
