+nsearls25
We will be driving from Detroit to Pittsburgh on January 1, to go watch the San Jose Sharks in these different cities, and naturally being a geocacher, I want to get as many finds in different counties possible. However, the shortest route appears to be along the Ohio Turnpike. Being from California, we don't have a turnpike, so is it easy to get on and off at basically every other exit, with tolls and everything? Also, is there usually a lot of snow during this time (we plan on renting a 4WD vehicle, and have snow driving experience)? The counties we will be driving through I believe are Wayne MI, Monroe MI, Lucas OH, Ottawa OH*, Sandusky OH, Erie OH, Lorain OH, Cuyahoga OH, Summit OH, Portage OH, Trumbull OH, Mahoning OH, Lawrence PA, Beaver PA, Butle PA, and Allenghangy PA. Ottawa OH is the only county that would require significant backtracking to get a cache there, so we will probably skip that county. We also plan in stopping at Cuyahoga Valley NP. I have made a bookmark with the most accessible caches, with the "available in winter" attribute, with a link here: https://coord.info/BM6YE58 Let me know your opinion, comments, etc. Thanks, nsearls25 (Nolin) Quote Link to comment
