oregon 450t want map with all GC like on app

Recommended Posts

I am trying to figure out how to Geocache efficiently. I have an oregon 450t. Currently, I look at the map on Geocaching.com and look at  the area I want go searching for a cache. I create a PQ, and download/extract to my GPS. In the field I can 'search for a geocache' and 'find next closest'. What I would like to do is bring up the map and SEE and icons where the GC's are. Am I missing something? THanks for the help fellow cachers!

Surely you are missing something. Geocaches do show on the map with the Oregon 450t. Check your map settings to see what zoom level user waypoints are displayed. The 450 doesn't have a separate setting for geocaches as the 600 and later does.

Thanks Mineral2. Only the one GC at a time will show on the map (the one I am currently tracking). Is this what you mean?

No. You should be able to see all of them. When i get home, I'll break out my 450t to look at settings.

I'm checking 'User Waypoints' now. I have it 'off'.  I have the option to change it to 'auto' '5m' '8m' ....'800km'. What would you suggest?

Stop navigating to any geocache or other waypoint and look at the map again, at lower zoom levels until they all appear.

0.5 or 1 mi might be working quite well.
