mielikkii
Hey there, I'm an old/new player and I've recently started playing again, this time also moving trackables. I'd love to send out my own ones and follow their travels, but seeing so many of them disappear is quite disappointing. I guess owning just one or two is quite risky, so my question to those who own a lot is: How many is a good number to start with? Now I'm thinking about getting 10 and hoping that at least half of them will last for some time, but I'm curious about your experience :) Thanks in advance! Quote Link to comment
+lee737
We have just sent them out bit by bit, I think maybe 20 or 30 by now, I think about half are still alive, I haven't done a 'stocktake' for a bit..... Send out as many as you like, make sure you place them in secure caches - well hidden, dry. Quote Link to comment

Trackables that are allowed to drop only to mystery caches seems to live much longer than others. Edited October 9, 2019 by arisoft Quote Link to comment

Curious, what's the difference in "risk" if you sent out two, or twenty ? We lost all ours sent out (a handful of high-end Travel Bugs, some cheapies, and more than a dozen geocoins). A few that we received from promotions aren't moving yet... - But we know of a bunch that have traveled well, actually being dropped and retrieved, and have done so for years. If I could start from scratch, I wouldn't change a thing. The amount doesn't have anything to do with them lasting, it's luck-of-the-draw. Good luck. Quote Link to comment
