Garmin 750T Screen Freeze

I have recently purchased a Garmin Oregon 750T. Whilst I am  Geocaching the screen keeps freezing. The only way to get it going is to remove the batteries and then it restats. This unit is only a month old!!!

Any hints???

Hi Mistysoho. Welcome to the forums. It's an excellent resource.As I use an Etrex I can't help you with your problem but others will chime in.

Any particular screen? (Compass or whatever?)

 

Try deleting all the cache files, and clear any Live Caches. One cache page used to crash my old 550.  I didn’t think this was an issue anymore, but it’s an easy thing to start with.

 

If you installed any specialized maps, try de-selecting them.  If you have added an SD card, try it with the SD card removed.

 

Check that you have the latest software.  You might try a hard reset as a last resort.

 

And you might have a defective unit.  If nothing’s working, prepare to return it.
