Showing current position on maps using a Samsung tablet without data.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Tablet 8. It has gps. I've tried to use the download maps from my list but I've not been able to get the tablet to show my position on the map. Is there a way to do this? I've been able to show my position with Back Country Nav. but not with the Geo. maps.

What are "Geo. maps"?

 

On the Geocaching App, your position is shown on the map with a blue dot.  I tried it just now and it does the same thing with downloaded maps when offline.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Tablet 4 that doesn't have data that I sometimes use for Geocaching. I use the Geocaching App and I've generally had trouble getting the blue dot to show up if I don't have Wi-Fi at the same time. My process is usually to start from somewhere that I have Wi-Fi, turn on "Location" until the blue dot shows up (sometimes it takes a minute or two), and then turn off Wi-Fi and start caching.
