+sparc77
I am working with a couple of Geocachers around the country to set up a series of linked virtual multistage caches that will follow the events of the Civil War. We are looking for folks who would be willing to do a little bit of research and help us to set up virtual caches. We already have people to work on Gettysburg and Chicamauga Quote Link to comment
+Jamie Z
I'm sort of near Fort Pillow north of Memphis... I could probably do something with you, although it would take something special to have me consider a virtual, since I'm one of those purists. Anyway, if I can help, email me. bloomcru
I'm stuck up here in Chicago area, but I was eavesdropping on your forum. My mom and sister live in Donaldsonville, home of recently discovered Fort Butler ( a union stronghold which was crucial to yankee success deep in reb country). I'm trying to get my sister and nephew interested in geocaching. It's pretty close to Buck8point, too. Anyway, this may not be of any help, but I wanted to get in on the conversation, I married a yankee civil war junkie and we've talked about a themed vacation, tying it to geocaching would make planning the itinerary easier! +civilwarranger
I live on Sullivans Island, SC. A barrier Island near Charleston SC. Down the street is Fort Moultrie, the fort Major Anderson left to gather at Fort Sumter in Charleston's harbor. The War started in my native city, Charleston, SC. Many, many sites around here concerning the Civil War. A virtual is already at Fort Sumter http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?ID=18579. Let me know if I can be any help with your plans. If the #2 pencil is the most popular, why is it still #2? Quote Link to comment
