+Valkarie63
Hi All - We current have a joint GC account with all of our finds/logs, and want to 'retire' the account to create 2 news ones each with the full cache finds/logs/stats of the original account. Is there a recommended way to copy/create the cache find log/history into new accounts before we 'retire' the joint account? Thank you for any advice/recommendations you have on how to do this. --V63 Edited January 28, 2019 by Valkarie63 Quote Link to comment
Keystone
Do you use GSAK and, if not, would you be willing to try it? Knowing the answer to this will help others to help you. 2 2 Quote Link to comment
Keystone
In any event, you would not want to create two new accounts. It doubles the work! When you finish transferring finds to the second account, you can rename the first so that it retains your more than 1000 find logs. It will also retain ownership of your hidden caches. If you want, that account can adopt over some of the active caches to the new account, using the self-serve adoption tool. 2 2 Quote Link to comment
+Lynx Humble
Also don't forget to add in your log that you are relogging the cache under a new name so people don't confuse you with an armchair logger. 1 2 Quote Link to comment
+IceColdUK
GSAK is definitely the way forward. You'll be able to load all of the finds from one account into the database; create a template ("Originally logged under <Account A>, now logging as <Account B>"); and log all of the finds under the new account (with the correct dates) with the press of a button. 1 Quote Link to comment

Instead of paying for a 3rd party application for this, and possibly having to jump through some hoops to get GSAK to run on a Mac, wouldn't it be nice if GS had a feature which would transfer all logs from one account to another? 2 Quote Link to comment
+Valkarie63
Thanks all for the great suggestions - the situation is that my son is going off the college and we have a team account. Don't want to *start over* even though we'll be taking different GC paths, hence the ask to see our joint finds in the 2 new accounts. I do have GSAK and bet there is a macro that can do the trick. I wanted to be sure before going down that route. So thanks for any further GSAK advice you have! --Val Quote Link to comment
