+Landsbanki Posted January 24, 2019 Posted January 24, 2019 I have a new cartridge and I'm getting multiple reports that when a player quits the cartridge using an iPhone it hangs and you have to restart the phone to clear it. Any suggestions as to how to resolve the issue? Quote

The problem was being caused by a start zone irrelevant to game play that I added in response to reviewer comments. There was an issue about where to place the symbol as it isn't a reverse or play anywhere cartridge - the zones are fixed but you can enter the zones in any order. I added a huge start zone enveloping the entire game area and this was causing the iPhone crash. I'll get back to our reviewer and ask if I can remove the zone for iPhone users. Has anyone else had this issue with where to place the cache symbol where it's a cartridge with fixed zones that can be played in any order? Such cartridges seem to fall between the cracks of the guidelines Quote
Ranger Fox Posted January 25, 2019 Posted January 25, 2019 Usually, I'd suggest putting the posted coordinates at the parking area. If your cartridge, for example, takes place at monuments in a few downtown city pocket parks, I'd probably put the posted coordinates in convenient parking, so long as it doesn't violate that 3.2km (2 miles) distance guideline the reviewers use. You could even require that cachers go to the posted location first by having that the only active zone. Upon arrival, some message boxes will introduce the cartridge and provide helpful instructions, perhaps even tips about good parking locations and which places to which you won't be able to move a car closer.
