Challenge Cache Checker Required?

We are interested in hiding a challenge cache soon.  I see that a lot of challenge caches have a Project-GC Challenge Checker link.  Is this a requirement?  What if its not possible to create a checker with the parameters needed?  (There are no current similar challenges on Project-GC)

 

Also- what is the typical order to go about this... do you hide the cache, submit the cache page and then go to Project-GC to request a challenge checker after it is published?  Any suggestions or input would be greatly appreciated!  Thanks so much

After verifying that your challenge cache idea meets the guidelines (by following the link helpfully provided by niraD), you should request a challenge checker in the Project-GC forum.  Your challenge cache should not be submitted for review until a link to the checker is included on your cache page.  Your reviewer cannot publish your cache without the challenge checker being in place.  You will also want to use your challenge checker to confirm that the challenge cache can be met by some other local geocachers, as explained in the guidelines.
