If you are exporting your file as a GPX file, then it goes in the GPX folder. If you are exporting your file as a GGZ file, then it will go into the GGZ folder on your device. These folders are all contained within a top-level folder called GARMIN.

GSAK also has some device-specific export presets that will put the files where they belong.

Connect the GPS in mass storage mode to the computer.  Then send to the GPS.  No need to create files or know where to put them.  GSAK creates them and puts them in the correct locations.

You might want to ask on the GSAK forum on that site, but it is pretty easy to do.  GSAK has a lot of tutorials as well.
