Hello.  My name  is Bill and I am from central Georgia.  I have used GPS for off shore fishing for a long time.  I am a teacher and I wanted to find a hobby that I could do as day trips with the wife.  Any help or advice would be appreciated.

So I found the events now I just need to figure out the ones near me

Besides the search/map, you can find events using a couple other resources.  Option 1 does not work on mobile web browsers:

1. Event Widget on your Dashboard - upper right corner has a calendar of "Nearby Events". You can change the distance range using the gear icon above the calendar.  Note: The widget won't work if you didn't enter a home location in your account settings.  The home location doesn't have to be your actual home, it could be a nearby park or business or street intersection - either way, it is not visible to other cachers.
2. Community -> Event Calendar - this shows all events, ordered by country/state, for a specific day.  It defaults to today, but you can select a different date by scrolling down to the calendar section and selecting a different date.
