You can also omit the degree symbols if you want. For example, "N50 12.345 W40 56.789" works fine. I'm sure it's also resilient enough to be okay with spaces after the hemispheres like "N 50 12.345 W 40 56.789".

Yep, when I put coords into Certitude, then I do it as in the bolded above.  For example, I'll just type in the following:    n 47 35.000 w 122 24.000

 

To the OP, keep in mind that Certitude also allows for keywords, so it's always good when working on puzzles with a certitudes checker to click and see what the puzzle expectation is.

It turns out that certitude takes coordinates in other formats. I don't know how many, but I do know it takes decimal degrees, and when homer dances, it even prints them converted into decimal minutes.
