+Kraftzwerg
Since last week, the user-defined hyperlinks, which are associated with integrated images/banners, no longer work properly on profile pages, e.g., clicking such an image or banner will cause an redirect to the respective profile page again, instead of opening the intended target page. As far as I've tested, this behavior shows up on both Safari and Thunderbird. Quote Link to comment

+Mineral2
That doesn't address the original problem. The "banner" on my page is static - an image that gets updated on the provider's end. The link is simply HTML: <a href="url"><img src="url of image"></a> Yet clicking on the link brings me back to the profile and not the destination of the link. That shouldn't rely on javascript. That shouldn't rely on javascript. Use left click. There is additional server scripting which breaks other ways to open the link. Quote Link to comment
+Mineral2
Meh... but I want my link to open in a new tab with command + click. Quote Link to comment

It is not necessary because those links opens to a new tab anyway. That's why it possibly activates a popup blocker too. Quote Link to comment

I often tend to do right-click when opening caches from the cache preview on the browsing map, because I forget that it already will open in a new tab. Right-click is just a learned habit for me. 1 Quote Link to comment
+Mineral2
They don't open in a new tab for me. I get a warning message "You are leaving Geocaching.com. blah blah blah" I click yes, and it initially refreshes to the profile again, but then proceeds to the page in question. No new tab. That's weird. It seems to be behaving differently than when I was clicking on things the other day. I'll have to find that other profile I was on and see if it's profile-specific or something. For your profile, using Firefox 63, if I right-click "Open in new tab" on one of the PGC tabs in your profile, then it opens a new page and asks if I want to leave geocaching.com. If I click "OK" in that popup, then it opens the PGC page with your stats. So I end up with what I wanted, your PGC stats in a new tab, although it takes a bit longer. If I left-click, then I get the pop-up in the same tab and then it loads your PGC profile in that same tab. Quote Link to comment
+Mineral2
If I include target="_blank" with the link, then it will open a new tab. But not before blocking it as a pop-up. Disabling pop-ups for geocaching.com allows the link to open in a new tab, but again, only if the link is specified to open in a new tab/window. But command + click (ctrl + click in windows) opens up a new tab that ends up with the profile again. 1 Quote Link to comment

Yeah, something seems different. Below is what I noted in the Release Notes thread a few days ago. I'm pretty sure that it was NYPC's profile that I clicked on before writing the below. The left-click of NYPC's profile still opens his PGC profile in a new tab. The right-click of NYPC's profile now opens a new page with his profile, then the pop-up, then his PGC profile. Maybe something has changed in the past few days. Not sure what. On 11/12/2018 at 1:33 PM, noncentric said: Doing a regular "left-click" of the PGC section opens the PGC page in a new tab. (in Firefox 63.0.1) Doing a "right-click" -> "Open in new tab" of the PGC section opens the same geocaching.com profile page in a new tab. (in Firefox 63.0.1) Is this different than how it functioned before this Profile page change? Quote Link to comment
+niraD
Yeah, we told them how some ways of opening links in new windows/tabs were broken (e.g., shift-click) but others still worked (e.g., middle-click). In response, they seem to have broken everything except the basic left-click. Quote Link to comment
