How do I search for active caches that have (or are supposed to have) trackables in them? Also need to limit area of search. Area: Angeir, NC, with say ten mile radius to start anyway.

I think I have it, never tried pocket query before.

Set up a pocket query centered on the area you're visiting, and check the boxes in the "That" section labeled "Have Travel Bugs" and "Is Enabled."  Add in any other desired search parameters, and save the query.  You can preview the query results without actually running it to count as one of your PQ's for the day. 

 

From the search results list generated by the pocket query, open the cache pages and study them to determine whether there's a likelihood that the trackable item is still there.  Things you can do include:

• Looking for recent logs on the cache page that say either "no trackables present" or "left a travel bug."
• Opening the pages for each trackable in the inventory to see when it was dropped off in the cache.  If the trackable was dropped off eight months ago, and the cache has been found twice a month since then, the odds are good that the trackable item is no longer there.
