Dr. I observation !!

Just a casual observation. The three or four of the last five caches I hit here on the westside had three or four of Fractals green radioactive marble containers. The problem was it was just empty containers except for the "Feed your Head" note and no marbles.

This was at least a total of 6-8 that I found and who knows how many more are missing. Perhaps the "good" Doctor I took the marbles and hit them with a good welding or butane torch to melt them and make the "Trinitite" glass fragments that Laurencat found. Just a theory but Hmmmmm???

KTF !!! GBWY !!!

I had a long talk with my wife about things lately (some of you know the reason for my recent sabbatical). She and I came to see the situation in a different light. So I guess my departure was a short one since on Friday she told me to "get my butt out there and go caching". So I'm back.

First- Glad to see you're back! It feels as though you never left us icon_wink.gif

Second- It kinda bothers me that someone is taking the marbles and leaving the geo-bubble with the 'feed your head' fortune... Hmmmm.

If that is what Dr. I did, he better watch out.. I'm not putting those things out for anyone's evil plans...

We also had seen, I think, four bubbles, sans marble, in "six in a row". If we hadn't picked up a marble earlier in the day we wouldn't have known what they were. I think "the game" predates me, so I cannot judge that. I don't recall seeing them before. It seemed odd to have so many in one cache.

It's good to see you back in action, Trafcon. We were worried that meeting us made you swear off geocaching forever icon_smile.gif

In my other life as a glass blower I can tell you that if you hit the marbles with a torch without slowly heating them up to almost 1000° they will shatter into little pieces explosively. You might then pick up the little pieces and try to melt them, re-explode into smaller pieces and continue to melt them. If they haven't gotten into your eyes and you can find the pieces they can be melted but will usually end up smooth surfaced and look kind of like pancakes. I think the real pieces of trinitite would be rough and look like cruches rock. I have not seen the pieces Laurencat and Oregone picked up but that would be a way to tell if they started as Fractal"s marbles or the real thing.

We must keep this fiendish devel honest at least. icon_wink.gif

Can't complain, no one listens anyway.

If you thought seeing 4 bubbles in one box was odd, you SHOULD have been at The Game54293_500.gif

If the bubble doesn't have that sticker, it's just a 'feed your head' geo-bubble from The Game...

The marble we did find had no such sticker icon_confused.gif

Maybe that marble is in reality the ultra radioactive Dr. Isatope exploding marbles we've all been warned about! Run for your lives! Or maybe it's just a cheap plastic knock-off. Either way I think they're cool & my cat goes nuts batting my Fractal Marble & Container all over the house. What was the point of this thread again?
