Transfer cache owner?

My friend & I just created a new cache. It was really my friends idea but I wasn't thinking and created the cache page while logged in with my account. This should be his first cache hid but it is showing up as mine. The cache was approved already (Moun10Bike is quick). Is there away to get the cache transferred to my friends account?

I would imagine you would just have to email one of the admins, explain what happened, which cache you're refering to, and who to transfer the ownership to.

Try emailing moun10bike directly.

He's the only one able to transfer cache ownership from one account to another. It must require manual changes to the database or something.

The FAQs say to:

 

Contact us at contact@Groundspeak.com and indicate the username you wish to transfer the cache to, and the waypoint name of the cache (GCXXXX).

We will transfer the cache as soon as we can.

Yes, every once in a while there's something meaningful in-between the messages about herbal Viagra, "Increase Your Size," "Please send money to my father in Nigeria," etc.

I have emailed contact@Groundspeak. On a related note, I searched the FAQ page I found (http://www.geocaching.com/faq.asp) and it didn't mention this topic. Bodoni: How did you find the link to the support pages? I cannot find a link to the site anywhere on the geocaching.com pages (I could be missing it). I'm thinking a link should be added to the "About Geocaching" portion since there is more "advanced" info here than the aforementioned FAQ page or the two FAQ's should be merged.

Interesting. I don't see a link to this set of FAQs either. I submitted a request for an enhancement to the private topic feature and received an automated response assigning my request a tracking number. The request had a link to the Groundspeak knowledgebase. I'd never seen a KB on the site and checked it out. While there I saw the FAQs and saw the answer to your question. I noticed that the FAQs had a different format but didn't realize there was no link to this support site from the main Geocaching site.

Theres a FAQ from the "About Geocaching" page that looks like this.

Theres another "FAQ" where you can search a "KnowledgeBase" which you can get to by going through the contact us page.

And on this page they have ratings stars on how often they're asked, (i guess). The 3rd one is currently "how do i adopt a cache?"
