世界中で話題に上がる GPS を使えないロケーション（洞窟や、廃坑、宇宙、海底など）でのトラディショナルキャッシュとはなんなのか。
申請可能なのか？とかを議論できればと思います。

GPSrが使えない場合はトラディショナルとしては認められません、って明記されていますね。

HQに問い合わせた結果を共有します。

お尋ねの洞窟。トンネルや海底のキャッシュの場合は、洞窟の入り口、トンネルの入り口、海底の直上の座標をキャッシュの座標として採用し、キャッシュページにキャッシュの見つけ方を記載すると良いとのことです。　キャッシュの種類は特に制限はなく、最終座標が洞窟の入り口（すなわち、GPSで到達できるキャッシュの直近の座標）となっていればよいようです。

 

Q:

I am questioned in Japanese-speaking forum if it is possible to place caches in caves, tunnels, under sea, etc where GPS signals won't reach. 

 

A:
Generally with places like tunnels, caves, and on the sea floor, the GPS usage takes you to the entrance of the cave or tunnel, or directly above if the cache is in deep water.  The cache page should explain how to find the cache once inside the cave or tunnel since GPs is useless in those locations.

Indoorキャッシュとの関連については、洞窟などはIndoorキャッシュと同様に扱ってはいけない、とのことです。Indoorキャッシュでは建物の出入り口をGPS座標として登録しないように定めています。これは、建物の出入り口はGPSを用いなくても見つけることができるため、GPSを必ず少なくとも一回は使用するというジオキャッシュの原則に反する恐れがあるためです。　そのためIndoorキャッシュの場合は建物から離れたGPSで捜索可能な別のWaypointに一旦到達し、そこからの指示に従ってGPSなしで建物内のキャッシュを見つけることになります。　

洞窟の場合は一般に入り口そのものを見つけることがチャレンジになるため、Indoorキャッシュの制限は適用されません。

A:　

No, they shouldn't be handled like indoor caches.  For indoor caches, we do not allow the posted coordinates to take you to the door of the building and then the cache page tell you what to do inside.  This is because the door to a building is obvious and can be found without using GPS, so it is insufficient GPS usage.  Instead, we require an additional waypoint outside that needs to be found with GPS.  It needs to contain information essential to finding the cache inside so that people can't skip that waypoint and just go inside without their GPS device to find the cache.

洞窟キャッシュの最終座標は、洞窟の入口かあるいはキャッシュ設置位置の直上の推定座標でもよいとのことです。直上の推定座標をファイナルとする場合は、洞窟の入口をバーチャルなWaypointとして登録します。

 

The final location can be either at the cave entrance, or an estimated location above where the cache would be.  They could set it up so that there is a virtual stage at the cave entrance if they provide a final location above where they estimate the cache is located.
