+RACEnAround
I am getting ready to take off on vacation and i am wanting to start a trackable at a rest area so it can travel easier. Are rest areas a safe place to drop a trackable or should I find a sizable cache off the interstate? Quote Link to comment
+Touchstone
I tend to drop trackabkes in slightly off the beaten path locations. Seems like the rest stop caches are just a bit too prone to discovery by the non caching public. My .02. 2 Quote Link to comment

Do they mention that it's full of cool stuff? When you arrive, does it just plain seem like it will only be found by Geocachers, that it's got an active owner (it's a clean, dry container in great shape) and it's not empty or messed with? If it's found and raided all the time, that's no good. Geocachers don't always treat others' property with respect, but at least they know what a "Trackable" is. So that gives it the chance to survive. Edited July 14, 2018 by kunarion 2 Quote Link to comment
+TriciaG
I've found them generally safe, especially if they're a fair way from the parking lot. Most people at rest areas go in, do their business, and leave. (And some walk their dogs.) Very few go exploring. 1 Quote Link to comment
