+Deepdiggingmole
Hi A quick question - when did the ruling get made regarding the disallowing of holding a geocaching event at the same location as a pre-arranged, organised event Such as a meeting up for a caching event at the same location/time as a village summer fayre with the intent to get involved in the fayre activities This is not a question regarding the ruling as I do not disagree with it - it is simply a question about when the ruling was made. +Touchstone
Keystone is correct. November 2003 update to the Guidelines included the following, which coincidentally was the first mention of Events in the Guidelines: Quote While a music concert, a garage sale, a ham radio field day or an orienteering event might be of interest to a large percentage of geocachers, such events are not suitable for submission as event caches because the primary focus of these events is not geocaching and the primary attendees are not geocachers. 2 Quote Link to comment
