+Find_the_Cache
At what time should another "needs archived" log be submitted? Is there a general time frame in which they should be dealt with? There are many in my area that have had needs archived logs for months, while others are going on 3+ years with no action from reviewer or cache owner. Don't want to overwhelm the system by submitting additional requests if someone has already sent one, but some of these seem like they're being ignored. Quote Link to comment

+Team DEMP
In my area, Northern NJ & Southern NY, a Needs Archive usually gets a response within 1 week from a reviewer who will review the recent logs, give a 30 day warning and then archive the cache if no cache owner response/action. I don't know if the process is similar across the US/world, but that is what I expect where I am. Occasionally an NA gets missed, but a second NA gets a reviewer response. Edited April 29, 2018 by L0ne.R Quote Link to comment
Keystone
Not all "Needs Archived" logs warrant action against the cache page by a Reviewer. Some are of the theme "I couldn't find the cache, therefore it isn't there and should be archived." Some may report a problem like a wet log or cracked container, but it's the first mention of the issue. Reviewers look for a pattern of reported problems before disabling a cache for a maintenance issue, and if the pattern's not there, then "no action" can be the correct response. The issue with a "no action" response is that it may appear as if the Reviewer ignored the "Needs Archived" request. Therefore, beginning a few years ago, I began using this form template to post to the cache page: Quote Hello, I was alerted to check this page because of the "Needs Archived" log. Reviewing the past logs, I think that the archive request ought to be treated as [a DNF log] / [a Needs Maintenance log]. I am not taking any action at this time. Regards, Keystone Geocaching.com Community Volunteer Reviewer Sometimes I will add to the end: ", but I have placed this cache on a bookmark list so that I can confirm that the owner follows up with any needed maintenance."
