+funkymunkyzone
Not sure when this happened, what website update, but I've just had to edit a waypoint on a multi (https://coord.info/GC6YFMT) and although the formatting appears correct in the editor - carriage returns in the right places - on the cache page it's messed up and you can't tell what's what anymore. See waypoints 4 and 5 compared to the others, which I did not touch. I can't fix them. In fact my attempt to fix number 5 messed up number 4, so I'm not touching them any more. But right now the waypoints are practically gibberish on what's already a difficult multi. Any suggestions? Or maybe Groundspeak can undo what they did that's causing this? Quote Link to comment
+Kalkendotters
If I'm not mistaken, the waypointfield uses bbcode to add some spice to it. So you can use [br] to add a newline, and [red]for color[[/red] That means we have three different coding styles on the website: HTML for the cachepage description BBcode for the waypoints Markdown for the logs 2 Quote Link to comment
+funkymunkyzone
Thanks Kalkendotters That has solved it. I'm still left in a state of confusion as to why WP4 and WP5 need [br] everywhere but none of the other WPs do... but at least I can get them to look right! Quote Link to comment
+Tungstène
Some time ago, inserting a line feed in a waypoint's description was sufficient. As long as you don't modify it, it will last. But if you update it or if you create a new one, you have to use the newly (and secretly) introduced [BR] bbcode. Quote Link to comment
