+TheDexterTeam
Hi, Can anybody tell me what the difference is between tracking- and reference number for a TB. I have a TB - is one of the number unik for me which I should not tell others about? Regards, Torben, DK Quote Link to comment
+Corp Of Discovery
As far as I know- Tracking number= number on TB and needed to log it. Reference number= number to share if you want someone to see your TB but not be able to log it. Hope that helps. Quote Link to comment
+Isonzo Karst
Reference number is visible on the trackable's page to everyone. Tracking number is shown on that page ONLY to the owner. And of course, on the tag or coin. IF you want to adopt a trackable to someone else, the adoption form takes the reference number. For some reason, people expect it to want the more private tracking number. Quote Link to comment
+cerberus1
Noticed that wording changes time-to-time in the Help Center, and that gets confusing to some. What works should be left alone. In the Help Center, the Reference Number is explained, but with reference "code" above it as the header. That's silly... The Trackable Code (and has been called a "code" for a while now...) makes sense to me. Just like a secured door, or password on a pc, you often need a code to gain access. For any action (retrieve, grab, discover...) you need the code to access that action. The Reference Number is simply a means to show your trackable on it's page to all. Quote Link to comment
