st4946
Hey folks, just bought a etrex 20 x and I’m having a little trouble with the compass. When I bought this I registered it and the Garmin site updated the firmware. Everything seems to be working fine , except when I go to the compass page there is no pointer. Anybody have any ideas? Thanks Quote Link to comment
+Atlas Cached
pointer is usually only present while actively routing to a destination. 1 Quote Link to comment
+Red90
Especially with a 20x as it does not has a compass. Quote Link to comment
+Mineral2
Well, it does have a compass, but it requires that you are moving in order for it to show any meaningful information. But it does not have a built-in magnetic compass. Edited February 17, 2018 by Mineral2 Quote Link to comment
+cliptwings
Yeah, I'm pretty sure you still have a pointer. Try selecting a geocache or waypoint loaded on the GPSr, then go to the compass page to look for the pointer. Quote Link to comment
robertlipe
Also, if you're asking about the pointer that's normally under a finger that you're moving to a location, however, this time of yeark can factor in. On he newer capacitive displays, it won't register the presence of your ringer, leat gloves withthe rubber tips so there's a capacitive reatction. Quote Link to comment
