+_Mooch_ Posted February 10, 2018 Posted February 10, 2018 HI I am having issues getting the software to download to safari in High Sierra OS so that i can get the GPS to load some 'send to GPS' caches. I would prefer to use a GPS as i'm eating through data and am not finding thee iPhone i have to be accurate. Any ideas on how to get the Mac and the Garmin Etrex to talk? cheers claire Quote
+MtnMutt-ProDuckShins Posted February 10, 2018 Posted February 10, 2018 The Windows crowd use GSAK to help with their loads & arrangements of caches. iCaching is the GSAK for Mac users. Yes, it's a shame we can no longer click send to GPS any more but thats the way it goes. Once you start using iCaching I think you'll like it. Good luck & keep Caching... Quote
+Wacka Posted February 10, 2018 Posted February 10, 2018 (edited) Use lists and the send to Garmin feature on that. Over time I have made lists for each of the towns near me. I update the lists and remove the found ones and the archived ones . To the right of each listing is a circle with three dots. Click this and four choices appear. The second is Send to Garmin. Pick this and follow the instructions. Edited February 10, 2018 by Wacka Quote
+Mineral2 Posted February 11, 2018 Posted February 11, 2018 Your mac and eTrex are likely talking just fine. Do you see it mounting as an external drive, just like a USB thumb drive? The problem is the communicator plugin that is built on an antiquated platform that browsers no longer support. Long story short, it's not secure and you don't really need it anyway. Geocaches are just .gpx files that get installed in the /Garmin/Garmin/GPX folder. As a premium member, you can download the gpx file (right next to the "send to gps" button) and save it directly into the GPX folder on your eTrex. You can also use pocket queries to bulk load caches from an area. The only downside to the eTrex 10 is the limited number of caches it can handle. But otherwise you don't need the "send to gps" button anymore. Quote
