Oregon 6x0 Firmware 5.30 - New release 2017-11-29

it seems that Garmin pushed a new firmware update 5.30

Fixed potential GPS issue.

Is there a more specific description of this update somewhere? I'm not really feeling the need to update with the one provided.

No, it replaces the 5.20 version that got pulled after several issues were discovered....

My understanding is that it resolves more issues than are documented

It is not just the Oregon.  All a bunch of the handhelds had the last firmware pulled and a new one issued.

The eTrex Touch series did not have the previous firmware pulled and a new version released like the others.

Well, as long as it fixes the issue of locking up while saving a track, I'm in.
