tmazanec1
How do you think AR will be applied to the hobby in five or ten years? Quote Link to comment
+cerberus1
If it ever entered a Groundspeak outdoors location hobby, I'd see Groundspeak making it a new game entirely, or vastly improving Wherigo. Edited October 22, 2017 by cerberus1 addifications Quote Link to comment
+fi67
Maybe something like Wikitude could work, but more like a secondary exploitation, not for initially playing the game. Quote Link to comment
+ScroogieII
If there is one, and only one, thing for certain, it is that humanoids are pretty poor at predicting future future trends and future technologies. A classic example is the proposal made around the beginning of the 20th century that the (I assume U.S.) patent office be closed, because "Everything of value has already been invented.". Look at movies from the 1950s, 60s, 70s, 80s, etc. On the whole, technology, as foreseen from those viewpoints, vastly surpassed what was envisioned then. Quite simply put, people cannot adequately envision technology which is substantially outside their actual personal experience. In the 20th century, future televisions still had substantial depth - they couldn't see the advent of LCD and LED screens. In 1920s movies of the future, airplanes remained biplanes - few could envision an airplane with less than two wings. Until it happened, apparently only Steve Jobs could envision the Smartphone. In futuristic movies of the Star Trek era, while humans could interact with computers verbally, visual information was conveyed via a plethora of flashing lights, not digital displays. What will we see 20, 50 or 100 years from now? I haven't the slightest notion, and neither do you. Keith Edited June 3, 2020 by ScroogieII Quote Link to comment
+elyob
Assuming we aren't already, how many years before Waymarking is discarded by Groundpseak to make room for the future we can't yet see? Quote Link to comment

That's an eventuality I choose not to ponder. Keith Quote Link to comment
