Tracking trackables across the international dateline

I've just started here and have found a few trackables that have come to New Zealand across the international dateline. The map page doesn't display this well, for example the short trip from

Samoa to Fiji and then Fiji to Tonga draws lines right around globe instead of directly between the islands.

Side note, that map is really a pain to use. Most web maps I come across allow zooming either by scrolling on the mouse/touchpad or by double clicking. I found that shift and drag to select the zoom area is working, but that takes two hands and it should be possible with one finger.

Yup.  That map is pretty old.  I'm not sure it's been updated over the last ten years or so.
