Yokra
Hi all, When I log a cache I often try to make little story of it. That is my way to say thank you to the CO. Sometimes I receive nice responses and they thank me for my log, because they like reading them, Of course I am not always that creative, due to lack of time writing those. What I now like to do is to make a logbook for myself as well so that I have a book for myself with all the logs in it and photo's. So what I like to do is to document all my own logs. But I don't know how I can do that. Of course I can make a list of all my found caches but then I have a long list with the title of the caches. I can open them 1 by one and copy paste, but that will take a long time... So I have two questions: 1. Is there an easy way to do this? 2. And if not: Would this be a functionality more people would like to have? Quote Link to comment
hal-an-tow
There is a way to do this using GSAK and a macro which makes a Kindle book output of your logs http://gsak.net/board/index.php?showtopic=20152&st=0&#entry206545 it's quite an old macro, and doesn't seem very popular so I imagine few folk want to do this, but I've used it , and it works OK ( it does seem to get hung up though , if I recall correctly its where there's a photo with your log ). Once made, Calibre can convert the kindle format to various other file types if you want. Quote Link to comment
cerberus1
If I was interested, a simple solution (for me) would be knowing that all caches I've given Favorite Points to usually have my best logs. I don't go back to review other logs, unless there's a new cache close-by and I'm looking to glean more info of the area. Quote Link to comment
hal-an-tow
There's another GSAK macro, which will give you plain text or HTML output apparently. I've not used this one, but you should be able to copy/paste the plaintext into a word processor to make it into a nicely laid out book. http://gsak.net/board/index.php?showtopic=23051&st=0&#entry170597 Quote Link to comment
noncentric
Depending on someone's skillset, it could be possible to parse out the desired cache info and log text from a My Finds PQ. The content of a My Finds PQ will include cache info along with the cacher's log type, date, text. 1 Quote Link to comment
