+AZjohn Posted October 11, 2017 Share Posted October 11, 2017 hi for some reason in the past my pc treats downloaded geocaching gpx files as adobe so when i copy them into my chip they dont work. tried chaging the software default but i cant find the right one that windows will allow. how do i go about fixing this? thanks john Quote Link to comment
+StefandD Posted October 11, 2017 Share Posted October 11, 2017 Right click on a GPX file, choose Open With... and select whatever program you use to open GPX files. If the program is not in the list, you can navigate to its location on your computer. But for copying a GPX file you don't have to open it. Just use copy/paste. 1 Quote Link to comment

It's an XML file which has elements which are described by the GPX schema and geoaching extensions. It can be opened, viewed, and edited using a standard text editor (notepad, textedit). You can also associate GPX files with a waypoint manager such as GSAK, EasyGPS, or Basecamp. Any of those applications will load the GPX file and provides a "driver" for sending the results to a GPS device. 1 Quote Link to comment
