True detached from reality? From what I have seen here in Australia there is declining numbers of new cachers and of new caches being published. Quote

It depends on where you are. These are the numbers of new caches in NSW over the past decade: 2010 - 621 2011 - 872 2012 - 1223 2013 - 1491 2014 - 1391 2015 - 1568 2016 - 1963 2017 - 1327 2018 - 2360 2019 - 2663 2020 - 1514 Those numbers exclude caches that have since been archived so the earlier years are likely a bit lower than what they really are, but the general trend, at least up until last year, was still up. In my own region (the Central Coast), it's been a pretty steep decline from the heady days of 2014 and 2015 when there were well over a hundred new caches each year to just 18 last year, but this year it's picked up again with 31 so far. +DARKSIDEDAN Posted October 15, 2020 Posted October 15, 2020 I would have to agree with you barefootjeff. In general though I still think that Geocaching is in a slow downward slop Quote
