+Magsmark
I have had big problems with the offline maps with my Galaxy S5 phone. My Android system is up to date and so it the app. When I tap on a list it quickly brings up the list, but when I tap the icon to bring up the map, i get the message to "Please Wait", and it just spins around and around. I have waited for 15 - 20 minutes and still nothing. The offline maps feature is useless. Also, when i am on 4G LTE, i can search for caches in an area and it brings them up on the map, but it takes anywhere from 2 - 5 minutes. The original app that I paid $10 for 6 years ago worked fine on this phone up to the time it was no longer supported. It loaded caches via 4G LTE much quicker and brought up my offline maps within a minute or two. What gives? This new app is seriously inferior to the old one. Fix it!!! Quote Link to comment
+Viajero Perdido
If you're willing to consider another app, look at Locus Map, free or pro. It excels at offline mapping, and is a very functional (and approved) caching app to boot. Edited September 7, 2017 by Viajero Perdido Quote Link to comment
+Magsmark
Thank you Lost Traveler. I will check out that app. I was vacationing last week in the Black Hills with no phone service and had to rely on my Garmin and my little old pocket notebook. It reminded me of the old days. Vaya con Dios! Quote Link to comment
