map crashes on chrome (mac)

The geocache map crashes (becomes unresponsive, requiring the page to be reloaded) constantly, making it very difficult to use. When there are individual cache pages open and the map crashes, all the cache pages need to be reloaded. For the past couple of weeks, the individual cache pages have been crashing even without the map open. Sometimes the entire browser freezes until the "unresponsive page(s)" dialog appears.

Chrome Version 60.0.3112.90 on MacOS 10.12.6

I have no problems when using Safari.

I've seen this intermittently in Chrome on PC going back several months.

I have no problems when using Safari.

Try this fix.  It may solve your problem if your Chrome goes unresponsive.

I had a feeling it was getting hung on one of the calls, but I didn't have the time to go hunting. Thanks for making it, and I'll report back if I have any problems with the extension on. Hopefully it won't be necessary much longer.

I got one report week ago, that a Crome user solved his gc-map problems with this extension. You should see the result in couple of days if the problem disappears.

Now we know that it is not a Windows only problem as it also happened in MacOS. At least Firefox and Crome is known to suffer this problem. Both of them can be fixed with the extension.
