Forum topic idea

Can we have a section in the discussion forum that is all about puzzles/ciphers etc? So all the puzzle fanatics can gather and ask questions give tips etc? I couldnt seem to find one listed.

The problem with such a forum section is that it would require constant vigilance from moderators in order to avoid spoiling specific puzzles.  See, for example, this recent thread and especially niraD's post to the thread.  niraD copies and pastes that very helpful post into many similar threads, alerting the topic starter to the applicable terms of use for discussions of puzzle caches.

It is fine to start threads on favorite types of puzzles and other general subjects.  These discussions would be on topic in the general Geocaching Topics forum.

I don't see this happening on the GC forums, but if you're a facebook user then there are closed groups on there which do exactly what you suggest.  Try searching groups for "Geocaching" and "puzzle"

Yes.  There's one fairly active FB group that does exactly what the OP asks.  It's fairly well moderated to keep out spoilers and has a ground rule such that requests for help (and more importantly, responses) on a cache shouldn't be posted about a specific cache shouldn't be posted until it's had a FTF.  Personally, I would like to see more general puzzle principles discussions but over all it's been a fairly drama free group.
