Map Options No Longer There

I noticed on the Geocaching website that there are now only 2 map options, "Map" or "Satellite" There used to be a drop down menu with a lot more, whats happened to them?

Have you tried to click this button at the bottom corner?

You have two choises: Google for premium members and other free maps for basic members.

I'm not seeing "Set Map Preferences on the map page, I'm searching around on other pages now, what

page is it on?

Maybe related question:

As a premium member, is there a way to change the default map type on the actual cache page from Open street map to Google maps? I know there is a link to open it in a new window, but it would be nice to see in right on the cache page.

If you're using Firefox + Greasemonkey there's a nice script that turbocharges the GC website. GC Little Helper give you a lot of options to customize everything including a choice of maps.

On the cache page, no.  Unless GC Little Helper as described above handles that.

Reasoning: Google wants $$$ from websites that embed their maps, so Groundspeak invested $$ in creating and serving up their own derivative of OSM.  Unfortunately it's woefully out of date; it costs time and $ to run your own tile server, as I think they've found out.

Not GCLH but another Greasmonkey script may help. GC Street View. It shows a map + streetview if available.

BTW, there a a lot of GM scripts that make life easier on GC

I haven't looked into scripts before. I'll have to check it out. Thanks!
