Yeah...what was the point?  I tried adding them up and they just point to a spot in the middle of the Atlantic.

Maybe they too realize the lost opportunity of just an instant meta-souvenir instead of some unlockable quest/reward/etc that would involve use of the 4 map piece souvenirs.

I suspect they mean Alas. From the Pirate's point of view we have all seen his treasure map now - hence alas.

That's what I was thinking Kunarion.  I also see that they have fixed the final souvenir so it is with the "M's"  so now it sits beside the other Mary Hyde souvenirs.
