SA Geocachers: In Memoriam

Just to let everyone know that earlier today we unfortunately lost an avid Geocacher who has gone off to chase a terrain 6 Mystery Cache.  Many of you will know him as Technonut (Peter Tiedt).  He was geocaching mad and an active member in KZN, and then Gauteng after moving there earlier this year.

Peter joined the Geocaching community in January 2004, and immediately proceeded to place several caches.  Over the years, he would place 348 caches, many of which are still active.  He only started to find caches much later on, but wasted no time once he got started and found 5325 caches.  He was also an active member on the forum.

He will be sadly missed in the Geocaching community.  Condolences to his family (GForceZA and Killer Midget) and friends.

I unfortunately only met Peter once many years ago at a shindig in KZN.  We only recently started communicating again on various technical aspects of the South African database of caches and its history.

Please feel free to share your stories and Geocaching adventures of Technonut.
