+OldFrenchy
Can a company (small, privately owned) register their name as a member and create caches? Quote Link to comment
Keystone
Yes, provided that the cache descriptions do not mention the business name, promote the business, etc. The cache must comply with the Commercial/Solicitation section of the Cache Listing Guidelines in all respects. That also means, among other things, that a geocacher cannot be required to enter a place of business or to interact with any employee in order to find and log the cache. Quote Link to comment

I note that you used the word OR. Is this a change in the guidelines? I seem to recall that this used to be AND. I have found a handful of non-Geotour caches where you must enter a business in order to find the cache (or next waypoint), but were not required to interact with employees. One was even featured in the Geocaching newsletter. Lots of GeoTour caches require that you enter the business, but again, no requirement to interact with the owner or any employees. Keystone
I correctly stated the listing guideline. Since this is the "Getting Started" forum, it's not a good place to discuss special exceptions and grandfathered caches. Quote Link to comment
