Please don't give up yet!  I echo all of TeamRabbitRun's suggestions.  Other cachers you meet at events can definitely help you with tips and suggestions, as well as keeping you company as you search.  More eyes are better!

 

It can be discouraging and frustrating when you don't find things, but we all have those days.  Once you have found a few, it gets easier as you learn what to look for.  Try easier, 1/5/1.5 D/T rated caches, try looking on the website for how to's and tips.  geocaching.com and the 101 help files can get you started.

I echo the comments above.  Try some different types, go with different people, check hides from different hiders.  

 

And let us know how it goes.  Stick with it a little longer.

 

But on the flip side, I realize that it is not for everyone.  Maybe just a little longer would answer your questions and get you over the hump.

Hi all, i dont think ive ever said hello here. so hello. been casually geocaching for a while, last week got asked if i was interested in parking lwhile looking around a parking sign :lol: first hidden cache this week. After a wrong digit sending people to the wrong location that is all sorted. Never a dull moment really

Same here. After all the Covid and personal issues, like brain surgery, back on our feet. On track for our 5k caches in nearly 20 years.

attended a Blockparty here in the Netherlands a few years ago and got very, eh, astonished (?) about sooo many phonecachers and AdvLab cachers.

Over 20k founds in just 3 or 4 years.

 

We keep on doing it like we did and have lots of fun!

Hello Kyle, and welcome!  The "How do I....?" forum section is the best place for a new geocacher to ask questions.  Look for any recent discussions of the same subject and join in.  Or, if you don't see an active topic, start one of your own.

 Bonjours je me présente Redcat305. Nous faisons du géocaching depuis plusieurs années. Dernièrement nous avons signé nos 800 ième caches. Maintenant j'ai envie de plus m'intéresser à la communauté et partira prochainement une série de cache qui va allier nos deux passions. Les campeurs géocacheurs.
