+Jayeffel
Simply wondering where the term Muggles comes from. Can figure the intended meaning whether or not meant to be derogatory. Quote Link to comment

AFAIK Muggles is a term from Harry Potter that refers to those in the outside without magical powers. Quote Link to comment

+Bear and Ragged
There are those that say it was used a long time before Harry Potter... But it refers to the 'Uninitiated' or those 'Not in the Know' of things. Quote Link to comment
+wmpastor
"Muggle" is neither positive nor negative in general, it's an outsider, generally said with a bit of a smile. If it's meant negatively, generally if a muggle muggles (steals, wrecks) a cache, some other words are added on (e.g., "#$!@#! muggle"). Edited February 22, 2017 by wmpastor Quote Link to comment

Yeah, "muggle" as a noun is fairly neutral: someone unfamiliar with geocaching, no more, no less. But "muggle" as a verb is usually negative: to steal/vandalize a cache or its contents. And there are other nouns that are more negative, for example: "%$#@! cache maggot" Quote Link to comment

I am more concerned about you thinking there's a possibility of it being derogatory.. I swear, people are just dying to be offended and to be victims nowadays. Quote Link to comment
