+timothy585
I just picked up a Garmin Montana 600 to use on my boat and for general hiking and geocaching trips. The problem is, I can't figure out how to make the navigation arrow stay centered on the screen and have the map move underneath it as I travel. In other words, the navigation arrow slowly moves off the map as I travel and I have to move the map with my finger to bring the arrow back into view. That's crazy...what config am I missing? What good is a GPS if you position indicator eventually moves off the viewable map? I've tried all three Orientation modes - [North Up] [Track Up] and [Automotive Mode] and none of those changed the way it behaves. I know I must be missing something... Any help is appreciated. +Atlas Cached
If you touch the map screen for any reason, that freezes the map position and the arrow starts moving.... Just press the 'back arrow' at the bottom corner of the map to return to having the arrow centered and the map scroll underneath! Quote Link to comment

Just press the 'back arrow' at the bottom corner of the map to return to having the arrow centered and the map scroll underneath! Thank you VERY much. That was exactly what was happening. I was fiddling with it so much when I was using it in my vehicle and when I would mark a placemark by accident and then delete it, it would still freeze the map. I've got it straightened out now. Thanks again. Quote Link to comment
