+Sheep Dip
Hi everyone! I've been trying to download geocaches to my eTrext 20 (never had a problem until a month ago) and now it says it can't detect my device and to download the latest plugin etc. But I have. What's happening? Anyone got any advice? Quote Link to comment

What's happening? Anyone got any advice? Do a forum search for "communicator plugin" and you'll get 100's of similar threads. Short answer, communicator is out, download the gpx file to GPS or download it to computer and copy to x/Garmin/GPX Quote Link to comment

Short answer, communicator is out, download the gpx file to GPS or download it to computer and copy to x/Garmin/GPX I realize this is a general situation, but in the past I have had to reinstall the plug-in several different times. Also (knock wood!) we're still able to download to our eTrex 20 - while I learn how to run a Smartphone ROFL! (60 year old with fatfinger syndrome!) We run Win10 64 Pro - it might be that our OS is letting us get away with a bit older plug-in through a 'compatibility' run...not sure, but happy! Quote Link to comment
+Jayeffel
I found that using iCaching. app works ok; off the cache name in Geocaching send to GPX file, them in iCcache import GPX files from files on the computer. (one or all selected; then with Garmin connected to the computer download from iCache to the Garmin. You may need to keep on sending/canceling until the screen shows download to GPX . +DancingFish
I get the plugin error in every browser except internet explorer. IE solved this issue though I hate it as a browser. Quote Link to comment
+Sheep Dip
Thanks everyone for your replies. It seems the only answer is to follow a somewhat complicated route. But I've been relying on my iPhone lately which seems to be pretty accurate so I shall stay with that, and in the meantime, try the gpx route suggested by on4bam and others.
