+HockeyHiker19
Good morning! This morning around 9:15am Pacific, I marked 7 queries to run. Four of them ran immediately, but here it is, 2 hours later, and 3 of them still haven't run. Is there an issue with the server? Thanks! Quote Link to comment
+Viajero Perdido
Don't submit odd-numbered queries! (I'll leave the HOW as an exercise for the reader...) EDIT: I'm on a keyboard now; can elaborate. PQs have an internal number, which you see if you examine the ZIP file after downloading. Odd numbers are cursed "underachievers". +HockeyHiker19
I'd like someone from HQ to explain why an odd number of queries won't run properly since that makes no sense. What if someone wanted to run only 1 query? Quote Link to comment
+kunarion
I'd like someone from HQ to explain why an odd number of queries won't run properly since that makes no sense. What if someone wanted to run only 1 query? Queries listed as #1, 3, 5... seem to be on one server. Queries #2, 4, 6... seem to be on another. Some people have noted a trend where at times the odd numbered ones in the list don't run, but the even numbered ones do. It's a good idea to run PQs at other days than on a weekend, and also to have more than one similar PQ on more than one server. I don't run every PQ every day, I have a couple of local PQs and run them alternately throughout the week. That way, even if something goes wrong between Friday night and Monday afternoon, I have a pretty good local PQ that's only a couple of days old. I do a similar thing for a special trip out of town. If you have the Official Geocaching App, and especially if you have a data subscription, often you can load "lists" and individual caches, even when PQs or the whole the site is down. I have a phone set up for wifi only, as a backup for whatever is not on my GPSr. It could rescue a caching trip if the site isn't running PQs. Edited January 8, 2017 by kunarion Quote Link to comment
+C3GPS
Pocket queries are given internal unique numbers by Groundspeak. I believe that the ones that are given odd numbers are run on separate servers than the ones that are even numbered. Names have nothing to do with it. Quote Link to comment

My PQ "10133431_Fay12mile.zip" ran as usual. That would be an underachiever, right? Maybe mine ran before the hiccup. Quote Link to comment
+Viajero Perdido
I had good luck today. Ran two, and while the even was instantaneous, the odd was only a few minutes behind. Last time a week ago, it was hours later. Maybe they gave the server a smack, which unclogged the pipe running out the back. I understand this technical stuff. Quote Link to comment
