+kunarion Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 Cool! It may be from this cache: https://coord.info/GC28CM3 Quote
Marls13 Posted December 20, 2016 Author Posted December 20, 2016 Where and how can I continue this book on its adventure? Quote
Marls13 Posted December 20, 2016 Author Posted December 20, 2016 Yes, this is it! The names match the people on the comments!! 😄 Quote
+allrounder Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 the "book" is a log book where people record their visits to the cache so it needs to be returned back to the container... Quote
Marls13 Posted December 20, 2016 Author Posted December 20, 2016 It was found in the grass by itself.... Quote
coocootoo Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 If you click on the link kunarion provided, on the cache page there's a link to the owner's profile, which will give you a couple of different ways of getting in touch with them. Alternatively, the cache page tells you everything you need to know to find the cache yourself, though if the logbook is missing, the whole thing might be missing too, so probably better to get in touch with the owner. +noncentric Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 What was the most recent date in the logbook? Quote
+noncentric Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 The book that was found is the logbook for the indicated cache, like to be "Shakespearean Views" (GC28CM3). The cache was hidden along the walking track and the logbook would've been inside that cache. When cachers found the cache, then they would sign into the logbook to indicate that they'd found the cache. The logbook would then be replaced into the cache container and returned to its hiding spot, so the next cacher could search for it. Caches and their logbooks are not meant to travel. Instead, they are hidden at the coordinates indicated on their cache page and cachers go to those coordinates to search for them. If the logbook was found without its container, then it's likely that the cache was "muggled". You could contact the owner of the cache to let them know that you've found their logbook. The cache owner is Elmer_Stratty and you can contact them via the "Send Email" or "Send Message" links on their profile page. Hope that helps. You can learn more about how geocaching works here. +kunarion Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 (edited) Thank you for your help, will definitely look into geocaching There's a photo in the online cache logs, which shows what the log book looked like. Maybe that's what your friend found. The cache seems to have a creative hiding spot. But as mentioned, it may have been recently found and trashed. We'll see, when future logs are made online.
