paulfdoc
I would be grateful for any advice on GPS choice for following a route. I currently create gpx files and transfer them to BaseCamp. From there I export to my Nuvi-2598 and follow them on the 'Trip Planner' app on it. However, the routes are crude, prone to error particularly at junctions (wrong turn advice then 'make a U-turn'. I'm thinking that there must be a GPS device that is more sophisticated at following an exact road route (not just a trip between a handful of places). Like a cycling GPS can I suppose, but designed for in-car use, with spoken turn directions etc. Someone has suggested the Garmin handheld series - Oregon/Montana etc. So I would be grateful for any thoughts on whether these have the potential to do this kind of routing better than an in-car dedicated device (like the Nuvi). And...if not...would anyone have any other suggestions. Thank you. Quote Link to comment
